Oro Valley protesters rally outside suspected ICE facility
Dozens of people gathered in Oro Valley to protest outside a building they say houses a Department of Homeland Security office that runs activities with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Protestors gathered outside a suspected ICE facility in Oro Valley, Arizona, claiming it houses a Department of Homeland Security office that runs activities with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The demonstration comes as DHS reports increased enforcement activity, with over 50,000 undocumented immigrants arrested in August, a record number and the second consecutive month with such arrests. Rolande Baker, a resident of Oro Valley who witnessed the removal of her neighbors, expressed concern over the scale of enforcement activity and called for it to stop. KGUN 9 reached out to ICE and the Department of Immigration and Homeland Security for comment, but neither agency responded.
