Ford has so many popular cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles it can be hard to keep up. Beyond the Ford Bronco SUV and the F-150 truck, some of the most popular Ford models might not even be on your radar. That’s right, the Ford Transit van and Ford E-Transit are some of the best-selling vehicles in the lineup.

The most popular Ford models have been in high demand and low supply

Ford Authority has it on good authority that Ford is ramping up production on some of its most popular Ford models to keep up with demand. As with many automakers, supply chain issues have prevented Ford from keeping up with the popularity of many of its cars, trucks, and SUVs. However, things are looking up for the brand after a 22% increase in sales last month alone. Ford plans to ramp up production to keep up with the market.

Ford lists some of its most popular electric models as the Mustang Mach-E, the F-150 Lightning, and the Ford E-Transit. Mustang Mach-E production at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant in Mexico already ramped up production this week and plans to double the current rate. Ford is targeting 210,000 units by the end of this year.

In addition, the Ford Transit van, Bronco Sport, and Maverick truck will see a boost in production. The Bronco Sport and Maverick are built at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico. That facility added another shift of workers to get more products out. Orders for another 80,000 units are in place, which means many more Maverick trucks and Bronco Sport SUVs will be on the roads soon enough. Ford idled Lightning production at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center a few weeks ago, but that should restart shortly.

Some of the most popular Ford models are Transit vans

Even though you have probably heard of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Bronco, and the Lightning, the Ford Transit van and Ford E-Transit are some of the brand’s biggest sellers. These most popular Ford models aren’t the everyday vehicle, but many companies and fleets have invested in some form of the van.

After a $95 million investment, there are plans to increase production of the Ford Transit van and Ford E-Transit vans. The Kansas City Assembly plant targets an increase of 38,000 units for the rest of the year.

Ford sold more Transit and e-Transit vans last year than it did the Maverick. Of course, the Maverick wasn’t on sale for too long last year, which left it at a disadvantage. Still, the Transit van in all its forms is one of the most popular Ford models. It outsold the Bronco Sport, the Escape, the Mustang Mach-E, and even the Expedition. The only Ford vehicles that sold more were the Bronco, Explorer, and F-Series trucks.

As one of the most popular Ford models, there has been a big push this year for the gasoline and electric Transit van. The new 2023 Transit Trail has been popular among van life enthusiasts, and the 2022 E-Transit was a big seller for Ford Pro commercial customers. From the factory, companies, and drivers can customize the vehicle in a variety of ways. This adds features like onboard generators, tons of cargo space, and even a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.

No matter what type of Ford vehicle you are looking for, the automaker is working overtime to get those deliveries out. Vans are all the rage right now, but supply for the Maverick, Bronco, Lightning, and other models will slowly increase in the next few months.
