Excessive heat peaks today and tomorrow
Excessive heat continues through Thursday as high pressure results in very hot temperatures. Slight cooling Friday but still a few degrees above normal. Highs nudge upward again this weekend. Tucson, Arizona, is expected to reach 110° degrees Fahrenheit today and tomorrow, with temperatures expected to remain above normal. Stronger wind gusts are expected to return Thursday and Friday, raising fire concerns for areas east of Tucson. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for portions of Cochise, Graham and Southern Greenlee counties from 11 AM to 8 PM Friday. Temperatures will continue to rise this weekend into early next week, with a slight chance of mainly dry thunderstorms in the eastern mountains expected.
