University of Arizona Dorm Mold Forces Student Relocations
Dozens of University of Arizona students had 24 hours to pack up after mold turned up in their dorm. Dozens of University of Arizona students were forced to leave Coronado Residence Hall within 24 hours after suspected mold was discovered near an exterior window. The students were told to relocate through word of mouth rather than official word from the school. The University of California did not confirm whether or how many students had been relocated due to mold. The university maintains there is no indication of a systemic mold issue or other indoor environmental quality concerns. Students can request a Hall Transfer through the My UAHome portal once space is available, and the department may also consider terminating a housing contract when an extreme, unforeseeable and uncontrollable problem makes it impossible for a student to keep living in campus.
