Get ready to roll: The 25th Cyclovia Tucson takes over city streets
TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — A 2.5-mile stretch of road connecting Downtown Tucson to South Tucson is closing to car traffic Sunday morning for an annual community event. The 25th annual Cyclovia Tucson, organized by the Living Streets Alliance, will close a 2.5-mile stretch of road connecting Downtown Tucson to South Tucson from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Oct. 25. The event will be completely open to walkers, bicyclists, and dancers. It features five designated activity hubs, local DJs, live performances, and food trucks. The title sponsor, Arizona Complete Health, is offering free health screenings along the route. Participants can also participate in "Cinco for CyclovIA," a free bingo-style treasure hunt. Four information booths along the course will provide water, first aid support, and free youth bike helmets. The Cyclovía Tucson is part of a global open streets movement aiming to promote safer, more sustainable mobility options in public spaces.
