Bodycam video shows moments leading up to officer shooting HeeHaw, a beloved pet donkey
A Cedartown police body-camera video shows the shooting of HeeHaw, a beloved pet donkey whose owner is suing the officer involved. Body camera video has been released of a police shooting in August that killed a 1-year-old donkey named HeeHaw. The incident occurred in Cedartown, Georgia, where officers were searching for a missing child. The donkey's owner, Hannah Israel, stated that Hee Haw was simply saying hello to the officers and that he loved people. The officer, Trenton Garner, is currently being sued by Israel for allegedly entering Israel's pasture without permission and shooting HeeHa without justification. His lawyers argue that Garner reasonably believed that HeerHaw posed an immediate threat to another officer. The shooting has sparked outrage online and Israel has started a GoFundMe to cover legal fees.
