Hyundai Tucson Vs. Kia Sportage: The Sibling Sales War Has A Clear Winner

Despite sharing a platform and powertrains with the Kia Sportage, the Hyundai Tucson has pulled ahead to claim a decisive victory in sales. Hyundai and Kia have dominated sales charts in the US, with their compact crossover SUV models, the Hyundai Tucson and Sportage, being the most successful vehicles. The Kia Sportage has become Kia's best-selling vehicle, with only the K4 trailing. In September alone, Kia managed to shift 16,033 units of the crossover to new driveways, marking a 10% growth over the previous year. Sales have grown 9% compared to 2025, reaching 145,746 deliveries. This growth may be due to the facelift that was introduced for the 2026 model year, which included more power for hybrid models and a new front fascia. The Hyundai Tucson is even more successful, reaching 181,687 sales, 10% more than last year, while the Tucson's styling may appeal to more consumers due to its distinctive lighting and smaller body shape. Despite these differences, Hyundai offers three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance, while Kia doesn't offer this.
