Picacho Peak State Park to reopen following fatal plane crash
Picacho Peak State Park will reopen on Thursday following a deadly small plane crash that collided with the mountain on Saturday, 8. Pinal County County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a small plane crash near Picacho Peak State Park, Arizona, on Saturday, 8.30am. The pilot, identified as 68-year-old James Galvin, was pronounced dead when found. The park will reopen on Thursday, with normal operating hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., following the crash. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Department identified the pilot as Galvin.

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Picacho Peak State Park will reopen on Thursday following a deadly small plane crash that collided with the mountain on Saturday, 8.
Pinal County County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of an aircraft crashing near the top of the peak.
Authorities identified the pilot as 68-year-old James Galvin from Oro Valley, who was pronounced dead when found.
Picacho Peak State Park will resume normal operating hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
